Our Umbrella Services

Find out more about what an umbrella organisation is, our umbrella services and who we umbrella for.

What is an Umbrella Organisation?

  • An umbrella organisation is an incorporated organisation (and legal entity) that chooses to provide resources and backing to smaller groups that work in similar areas and/or share similar goals.

  • Umbrella organisations provide a way for groups and individuals to work successfully in their communities without having to take on the costs and responsibilities of being incorporated.

  • Umbrella organisations can help unincorporated/unregistered groups and individuals with obtaining funding (where grant eligibility requires incorporation/registration). The umbrella organisation may receive and pass on grant money to a group within its structure, possibly charging a handling or administration fee for its services.
